Mild Abrasive Cleaning With Sandpaper

It sounds harsh and destructive but cleaning some things around the home with a mild abrasive sandpaper is a good way to bring new life to old or stained objects. The harshness of the clean is limited only by the coarseness of the sandpaper. Any method of cleaning that does not use chemicals is always worth a try. One word of caution – The abrasive on sandpaper is held on with various types of glue. Avoid using on surfaces that will be used for cooking and ensure all surfaces are thoroughly washed that will be in contact with food.

The mild abrasive action of skin exfoliants are an ideal cleaner for a range of cleaning applications around the home. It is particularly useful for cleaning aged and oily dust from delicate china or family heirlooms that would not cope with abrasive or acidic chemical cleaners.
